Eppendorf AG released epT.I.P.S LoRetention pipetting tips, completing the Totally Integrated Pipetting System portfolio.

EpT.I.P.S LoRetention feature “Pearl Effect” surface technology which, through adjustments to the molecular structure of the material, renders the surface ultrahydrophobic. This causes any form of moisture to bead and drip instantly from the tip. The film that normally forms as liquids containing detergents contact polypropylene -causing loss of sample material, increased consumption of reagents and poor reproducibility - is no longer commonplace.

Eppendorf reports savings of up to five per cent when using expensive reagents such as qPCR and PCR master mixes.

Applications for epT.I.P.S LoRetention include preparation of enzyme solutions and master mixes for PCR and real-Time PCR; isolation, purification and denaturation of proteins; restriction digestions and ligations; and pipetting DNA ladders during gel electrophoresis.
